just a quick hello...

Fri Jul 14, 2006, 4:28 PM
Greetings deviants,

I'm a young English poet. I was recommended deviant art by a friend of mine called Tom O’Rouke. My poetry is fairly romantic and certainly highly bizarre my influences are Byron, William Blake, Percy Shelley, John Keats and William Shakspeare

I've come on here to get a bit of exposure for my rhymes and I also enjoy being in this pleasant artistic environment, please do look at my words and write any thoughts you may have but only if my work is stimulating enough to form them....

I have been published on merit, ‘A Dream from the Opposite Chair’ will be available in some bookshops not to far away now, the poem is coming out in October. I might put a new edition of that poem up here. It was published by entering a competition (I'm certainly not one of those vanity publishing prostitutes) and is in a dogma publications collection called 'A Journey to the Soul'.

I’m currently working my socks of to get a publishing deal for my first collection of poems which has the working title 'White Lies', I’m hoping to get Faber and Faber or Blood Axe to publish it as I would like it to sell more than 3 copies. However I might have to publish it underground if things don’t start happening…..

Also whilst its fresh in my mind, I have a ten poem strong collection which me and my good friend Natalie Smith are designing, she’s taking care of the presentation and distribution side of things, (I think) and of course I’m writing the rhymes and drawing a few sketches, this is a promotional pamphlet for publishers and writers though if we can raise enough money I shall be distributing copies on the streets of London town very soon. Woo London buzz, London buzz….

So all you Londoners watch out for that, it's going to be called 'Vodka Kicks and Teardrops’, I shall keep you posted on any developments

I will also endeavour to let you know of anything else exciting happening to me in the world of poetry and publishers, in the mean time, please have a browse…

I hope you like my poetry I put a lot of myself into it,

Best wishes,

Charles.
